What will you do as a Ships Agency Operator?
As a Ships Agency Operator, your primary duties will involve boarding vessels, liaising with port authorities, and managing operational data using our corporate systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Attend and board vessels as instructed, adhering to both company and customer requirements.
• Coordinate port calls efficiently and effectively.
• Provide advice on contractor selection for services and goods, including competitive quotations when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with company processes, standards, and the correct use of our operational systems (WASP).
• Monitor vessels and address any follow-up inquiries promptly.
• Maintain proactive, clear, and timely communication at all times.
• Report business leads, opportunities, and relevant port updates to your manager.
• Track and record expenses incurred during port calls.
• Offer insights to enhance operational and cost efficiency.
Qualifications:
• Preferably have a maritime background or experience in Ships Agency Operations.
• Strong communication skills, with proficiency in English (both spoken and written).
• Familiarity with process and system management.
• Self-driven and results-oriented.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Problem-solving skills and sound judgment in fast-paced situations.
• Knowledge of port regulations, procedures, and local tariffs.
• Proficient in computer use.
• A valid driver's license is required.
